thumb.aspxAfrica needs to refocus research thinking and agenda on the continent for agriculture to become productive and aid development, say agricultural experts. According to panellists at a SciDev.Net event organised in conjunction with the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications in Nigeria, research is necessary for agricultural growth in Sub-Saharan Africa but it needs to be demand-driven and shared for impacts. “We need a platform where all these crucial groups can meet to ensure that research studies are not duplicated but are shared among institutions, farmers and even with the private sector,” said Ngozi Odiaka, Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria.
