Professor Christopher Leaver
Emeritus Professor of Plant Sciences, University of Oxford, awarded the CBE for his distinguished contributions to science of plant development. He is a member of The European Molecular Biology Organisation, Fellow of The Royal Society, Humboldt Prize-winner, and has had a longstanding record of engagement in informing the public understanding of the role modern plant breeding.
Bart Ullstein has more than 35 years experience of all elements of publishing,whether on paper or electronic, from planning communication strategies, commissioning and editing text to design, manufacture and distribution. For the past 25 plus years, he has specialized in working with international organizations concerned with the environment and sustainable development, including UN agenicies and programmes and the European Union.
Writer and editor based in Cambridge, with a wide range of producing content for print and online publications. For the past decade, she served as editor for TUNZA: the United Nations Environment Programme’s magazine for young people, interviewing scientific experts and translating complex concepts into educational and inspiring copy for a global audience of youth. She also is a contributing writer and editor for TED Conferences, producing news features, in-depth interviews, and live conference reports.

Professor Sir Brian Heap
Based at Cambridge and formerly Master of St Edmund’s College, Cambridge, Professor Sir Brian Heap is a Fellow of The Royal Society and was its Foreign Secretary and Vice-President. An Hon. Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Society, past Director of Research at the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and Past President of the European Academies Science Advisory Council, Halle, Germany, he is actively engaged in science and sustainable development advice for policy makers.
Dr Bernie Jones
Formerly based in Strasbourg now UK, he was Interim Executive Director for the InterAcademy Panel, and the InterAcademy Medical Panel of the European Academies Science Advisory Council. Formerly Head of International Policy at The Royal Society, and Executive Director, European Academies Science Advisory Council. He was Manager of International Relations at British Airways, and is a graduate of Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities in Cognition, Computer Science and Psychology.
Dr David Bennett
Senior member of St Edmund’s College, Cambridge, Guest at the Kluyver Laboratory for Biotechnology, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands and Director of Cambridge Biomedical Consultants Ltd. PhD in biochemical genetics, MA in science policy studies with long-term experience in the relations between science, industry, government, law, the public and the media. Works internationally with the European Commission, government departments, companies, universities, public bodies and the media.
